Chris Jakeman from Montane joined us for a day to take us through the finer points of the 2012 and 2013 range of rucksacks which are about to hit the streets in the UK.
In this particular video he explains the features of the Torque 40 a 885g to 1325g pack primarily aimed at climbers. This pack is well featured and well thought out and the video will explain many of the key aspects often missed by some reviews.
The Torque 40 is a alpine master technical climbing pack
Serious mountain climbs demand well-designed and constructed kit; functionality above all else is paramount and the Torque 40 exemplifies this. Developed in conjunction with leading British mountain guides and outdoor activists, the Torque 40 takes its lead from the Medusa 32, not only in its extra load carrying capacity but also in its technical and highly specified features.
The Torque 40 is designed to carry heavy climbing equipment to the base of a route and can compress down tightly when relatively empty. It works perfectly in conjunction with a technical climbing harness and is robust enough to cope with contact against abrasive rock surfaces. Most importantly, it is comfortable on long routes when dynamic climbing manoeuvres are required.
